Declaring the leading sports stars from 2009, the 2010 BusinessWeek Power 100 List ranks the most influential athletes not only on their earnings but on their commercial and marketing appeal.

Recently disgraced golf legend Tiger Woods received top place in the 2010 tabulations followed by NBA superstar LeBron James. However, it is noteworthy to spot the strong representation that the motorsports community holds on the 2010 charts. Overall, 8 figures in the auto racing world are recognized. Almost exclusive to NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers, Danica Patrick (who is well-documented to be running in NASCAR for 2010) is represented on her IndyCar efforts for 2010. Every driver within Hendrick Motorsports' NASCAR Sprint Cup teams have secured spots in the 2010 list with four-time consecutive champ Jimmie Johnson positioned highest in 21st. At age 53, Mark Martin's presence comes as one of the more veteran names in the top 100 list.

The following is the positions which race car drivers are being recognized by BusinessWeek:

21: Jimmie Johnson
28: Jeff Gordon
41: Mark Martin
45: Dale Earnhardt Jr
48: Tony Stewart
67: Carl Edwards
70: Kyle Busch
88: Danica Patrick
